I worked from home today, so that the plumbers had access to the house to do various jobs (new radiator, service boiler, fix serious leak, new washing machine tap points).
Excepting a little bit of blow torch scorching to some wallpaper, they seem to have done an excellent job. Not really the weather to even think about switching the heating on, but best to test it’s all working.
On a similar front, Mum’s new plumbing appears to be continuing to operate well, so we’re feeling positive.
Though hopefully there were no blow torches involved in her case...

well having had a general anaesthetic while undergoing the procedure, I couldn't say for certain, but I do remember wondering what the scorch marks were from....
Oh, let's all talk about our operations!!!!!
Can we just talk about how to spell anaesthetic.
I thought it was anAEsthetic, but the spell check switched it to anEsthetic.
Is this lazy Americanisms again?
sally. there's something i've been meaning to tell you. I used to be a man. then i had the operation. my doctor wasn't very good at female anatomy tho. So i ended up with a hole in my stomach. That's why my lovely yellow tube is so anatomically incorrect. All because i wanted to be a janet not a john. So i had an operation.
The doctor wasn't a very good judge of a 34B either.
i'll get my bag....
am pleased it's all going better for your Mum now - and your plumbing should be leak free too :-)
anaesthetic has always been spelt with the a and the e over here as far as I know! I don't think I have a spell checker on mine ....
And caroline..confession time..I used to be thin. I used to be 8 and half stone. Size 10. Small boobs. Small waist. Young. Pretty. All hard to believe I know, but....I'll accept your imperfections if you'll accept mine.......my plumbing used to be perfect too, but it appears to have sprung a small leak.....
oh i do love the way that blog comments morph........
hugs all round. Sally...you're beautiful!
