I'm glad you liked it - everyone else seemed a bit nonplussed by it...

Also I'd like to point out that I could, almost, give you some sort of answer the the equation. I have an A-level in maths, I just can't quite remember how to use it.

I'm impressed you can even vaguely remember integration...I did two A Levels and Engineering Maths as part of my degree and all I've got is fuzzy familiarity that I've seen those symbols before!

Unfortunate isn't it that this only works one way round? I fear that "wow you're good at maths!" doesn't get switched to "wow girls are good at maths!".

Cruel world ;-)

As far as I can remember you either increase the 'power of' number by one and multiply or reduce the 'power of' (I know there's a technical term for this but I can't remember what) number by one and divide by the new number or the old number or some combination of the above.

No, I find if you're a girl and you're good at something 'unexpected', like football or maths, you're treated as an exception - an honorary man or similar. Obviously, if you're good at 'girl' things like cooking or changing nappies, this isn't commented on. Because 'girl' things have no status.
